COME JOIN US! This Sunday, October 15, is our celebration of the 100th Anniversary of St. Joseph’s in Pontiac (400 South Blvd. West, Pontiac, MI 48341). Formerly a parish, then called Shrine-Parish, is now “just” a shrine with the designation “Chapel.” We will celebrate an outdoor Mass behind the chapel with His Excellency Allen Vigneron, Archbishop of Detroit. He will preside and preach. Please dress appropriately with shoes that work well on grass and warm clothing. Chairs will be available—you do not need to bring your own. A FREE outdoor Lunch reception will follow Mass at 1:30 pm. For parking, if you can CARPOOL that would help us provide parking lot spots for the many extra guests coming. We recommend paring at our nearby Lowe’s Home Improvement (1801 S. Telegraph Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI 48302) and designating one driver in your group to actually park at the shrine (St. Joseph’s). The distance is only 1 mile. Finally, please join us in praying to St. Joseph for good weather. “Go to Joseph!” (Genesis 41:55) as the Bible says.
This Saturday, October 14 we will hold a Rosary Rally at Noon in front of the rectory (the house) next to St. Joseph Chapel. Mass will follow the Rally. As always, we are praying for the conversion of America, but we will also pray for peace in the Holy Land—the land of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
Please pray the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy for peace in the Holy Land. Miracles of peace can happen, but they usually require many people praying together. Please pray for all the peoples there, and especially for protection of noncombatants on all sides. Let’s especially lift up the “living stones,” our fellow Palestinian Christians, who want just treatment from Israel but also decry terrorist tactics.
