We continue to pray for the repose of Pope Francis’s soul and for the Holy Spirit to guide the Church to choose the next Supreme Pontiff. The Mass Intention for tomorrow, April 23, will be for the repose of the soul of our late Holy Father, Pope Francis I. The Mass will be for Tuesday within the Octave of Easter—and not a Memorial Mass since Masses for the Dead are not to be celebrated during the Easter Octave.
The whole week of Easter is one Easter “Day” as one holy Octave of glorious celebration that Jesus has risen, defeating death and the Devil. That’s why each day during the week we say at Mass the priest-presider says, “on this day”—prefiguring the deathless day of eternity Jesus has made possible for us.
We have FREE copies from the Archdiocese of Detroit of the “Pilgrimage Passport” for this Jubilee Year. Copies are limited. It lists each Jubilee location with a graphic, its address and journal space for each site and other sites too. There are limited copies.
We also have FREE holy cards of “St. Carlo Acuitis” who was going to be canonized on Sunday—Divine Mercy Sunday—but with Pope Francis’s death it will be postponed. Still, he WILL be canonized, so first come first serve for the cards.
On Divine Mercy Sunday, we will sell the book Spiritual Warfare and Divine Mercy: the Weapon for Our Times by Fr. Ken Geraci, CPM.
The schedule for Divine Mercy Sunday is below. We are excited that the Mother Superior of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, coming from all the way from Massachusetts, will be the speaker this year. Divine Mercy is their charism, so to have such a speaker is a gift from St. Faustina herself!
