January 19, 2025
Dear Friends,
The Holy Hour & Mass of Reparation has been moved from this coming Third Monday, January 20, to Thursday, January 23. At 6:30 pm we open our doors with Eucharistic Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (Confession upon request), 7:00 pm Holy Hour followed by Holy Mass. As we observe the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday and the Inauguration of President-Elect Trump, let’s pray for “One Nation Under God” that lives up to its stated ideals.
2 Masses will be held this Wednesday, January 22 as Catholics in the U.S. remember the national imposition of abortion by the disastrous judicial decision of Roe v. Wade. In response, Catholics observe a “Day of Penance for Violations of Human Dignity committed through acts of Abortion & Euthanasia and a Day of Prayer for the Full Restoration of the Legal Guarantee to the Right to Life.” We will have our normal schedule for the day with a Noon Mass. In the evening, we will open at 6:30 pm with Eucharistic Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed by a 7:00 pm Holy Hour & Mass for LIFE. Only prayer (and fasting) will exorcise the demons of abortion deeply entrenched in the soul of America to promote the Gospel of Life.
The Jubilee Year of Hope booklets from the Archdiocese of Detroit have arrived. We will provide one FREE copy per family or individual, as the case may be. They provide information about the Jubilee year and ways to obtain a Plenary Indulgence—including listing the 12 official Jubilee Year pilgrimage sites.
St. Joseph Chapel & the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (400 South Blvd. West, Pontiac, MI 48341)—our shrine—is one of those 12 selected Jubilee pilgrimage sites. We have fliers you can take if you are willing to promote Jubilee pilgrimage to our shrine. (Please ask permission to post them.)
Epiphany Water is available at St. Joseph Chapel. It is the most powerful Holy Water the Church offers, and highly recommended for protection against the demonic. Our 4 ounce bottles are available for a $5.00 donation.
We will be OPEN for limited hours (11:30 am-1:30 pm) on Monday, February 3, for the feast of St. Blasé to offer the blessing of throats during Mass.
To communicate with me, please email me directly at [email protected] or call/text me at (313) 727-9784. Blessed Virgin Mary, the Immaculate Conception, our national patroness, pray for us!
In Jesus, Mary & Joseph,
