Tomorrow, Saturday, October 11, at St. Joseph Chapel & the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (400 South Blvd. W., Pontiac, MI 48341), we will hold our Rosary Rally outside in front of St. Joseph Friary (not Chapel)—the former rectory. It will begin at Noon. Mass will follow at about 12:30 pm. During the outdoor Rosary, a Rosary will be prayed in the chapel for those who prefer that. A Rosary will also be prayed after Mass if needed.
After Mass on Saturday (not after the Rosary) I will give a talk on Christopher Columbus: “Christopher Columbus: Devout Catholic and Franciscan Tertiary.” His discovery (from the European perspective) of the New World, of America, was very much a Catholic discovery. Keep in mind that Columbus Day is the following Monday, October 13. President Trump just signed the “Columbus Day Proclamation” reasserted its federal holiday status which it has enjoyed since 1892.
This weekend I will be preaching on the Holy Rosary at all the Masses at St. Williams in Walled Lake. Masses are at 4:30 pm on Saturday, and at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm on Sunday. We will also have a religious goods’ sale that includes Rosaries and many good Catholic books at low prices.
We will be CLOSED on Wednesday, October 15, since I am covering for Mass at St. Vincent’s (part of St. Damien of Molokai Parish) on Woodward. Many priests will be up north with the archbishop for the Priest Convocation, and so they need help covering Masses by the priests not going up north. Please PRAY FOR US PRIESTS!
To communicate with me, please email me directly at abunaalex@yahoo.com or call/text me at (313) 727-9784. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!
In Jesus, Mary & Joseph,
