Tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, we liturgically commemorate Saints Joachim & Anne—the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  What is normally a liturgical Memorial in other dioceses in the Catholic Church is a Solemnity for us in the Archdiocese of Detroit because Anne is our archdiocesan patroness.  At St. Joseph Chapel & the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (400 South Blvd. West, Pontiac, MI 48341) we will commemorate this with song (and a organist) and devotion, since St. Anne was very holy and was given the gift of being the mother of the Mother of the Messiah after many years of barrenness (so says private revelation).  Like always on Saturdays, doors will open at 10:30 am with Eucharistic Exposition, Confessions will be at 11:00 am, Mass will be at Noon followed by the Holy Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Next week, First Friday falls on Friday, August 1 and First Saturday falls on Saturday, August 2.

We will be CLOSED August 3-13 for our Summer Break.

We will open on Thursday, August 14, to honor St. Maximilian Kolbe (normal operating schedule).

The great Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary follows on Friday, August 15.

We will CLOSE for the Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 16
