Both the Assumption & Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary fall on a Monday, August 15 & 22, respectively. We will celebrate both feasts at Transfiguration Parish (25225 Code Rd., Southfield, MI 48033). Each Mass will begin at 7:00 pm followed by the Rosary.
Michigan’s current legal position regarding the protection of the unborn will be explained by Corey Shankleton, from “Transformation Michigan,” at River Church (17235 Middlebelt Rd., Livonia 48152) on August 21 from 5:00-7:00 pm. He’ll explain how Michigan’s direction on abortion is in the balance, we will either become the most pro-abortion state in the union or the most pro-life. It’s critical we understand our position and be activated!
Holy Hours for a Pro-Life Michigan will be held at St. Mary’s Orchard Lake every Wednesday beginning Aug. 24 at 7:45 pm. (Please consider coming to the 7:00 pm Mass preceding it.) We turn to Jesus in the Eucharist and we beseech the holy Mother of God to help keep Michigan pro-life because, as St. Maximilian Kolbe said, “Modern times are dominated by Satan and will be more so in the future. The conflict with Hell cannot be engaged by men, even the most clever. The Immaculata alone has from God the promise of victory over Satan.”
PLEASE BEGIN NOW to pray fervently for a Pro-Life Michigan and the defeat of the anything-goes abortion amendment to the state constitution. Spread the word to Vote NO to Abortion on November 8 (the General Election). We recommend (1) Pray the Rosary daily and recruit any willing Catholic to commit to doing so through November 8. (Many Catholics pray the Rosary, but not daily.) Also pray daily—and we will provide these free—the (2) Novena to the Immaculate Conception, our national patroness and (3) the “Prayer for our Country” for a pro-life America (prayer card). On your own, please MULTIPLY Holy Hours, Rosaries, Chaplets of Divine Mercy and have Masses offered for a Pro-Life victory on November 8 BUT ALSO for the conversion of hearts to the Gospel of Life.
