On this Memorial of Pope Saint Pius X, who fought strenuously against Modernism (making the Catholic Faith reflect the changing fashions of culture), and who died 3 weeks after WWI began, we are asked by our current Pope, Pope Leo XIV, to commemorate tomorrow’s (Friday, August 22) Marian Memorial of Our Lady’s Coronation by praying and fasting for peace & justice in the Holy Land, in the Ukraine and throughout the world.  We especially invoke Our Lady as Regina Pacis, the “Queen of Peace,” to intercede for a conversion of hearts of all those who inflict unjust violence on others—disrespecting the human dignity God our Creator endowed them with.  Wars are a result of sin Our Lady of Fatima said.

At St. Joseph Chapel & the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (400 South Blvd. West, Pontiac, MI 48341) we will pray the Holy Rosary for peace, since world peace has been entrusted by Jesus to His Mother’s Immaculate Heart.

Today is the Third Thursday of the month.  We will have our Evening for Vocations: at 6:30 pm we open with Eucharistic Exposition and Confession available upon request, a 7:00 pm Holy Hour and 8:00 pm Mass.  The culture won’t change towards the Gospel without good and holy vocations.

To communicate with me, please email me directly at abunaalex@yahoo.com or call/text me at (313) 727-9784Pope St. Pius X, pray for us!

In Jesus, Mary & Joseph,
