December 30, 2024
Dear Friends,
As 2024 ends, we wish you a Happy New Year. We invite you to begin your new year on Wednesday, January 1 at St. Joseph Chapel & the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (400 South Blvd. W., Pontiac, MI 48341) honoring our Blessed Mother on her foundational feast: Mary, Mother of God—a Solemnity & Holy Day of Obligation. We will observe our normal schedule: 10:30 am Open & Eucharistic Exposition, 11:00 am Confessions, Noon Mass followed by the Holy Rosary. On this World Day of Prayer for Peace, we turn to the Queen of Peace for the peace only her Divine Son can give.
Blessed rose petals for healing will be available after Mass.
First Friday (Jan. 3) and First Saturday (Jan. 4) occur this week. To entrust our new year to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary is to entrust it to God’s merciful care. Perhaps a New Year’s Resolution could be to observe First Saturdays and to fervently live the Fatima message.
Epiphany Water will be available after January 6. It is the most powerful Holy Water available.
The Jubilee Year of Hope began December 24, 2024 and will last until January 6, 2026. Since our shrine has been designated as one of 12 official Archdiocesan Pilgrimage sites, you can visit us to obtain a Plenary Indulgence for a needy suffering soul in Purgatory or for yourself.
To communicate with me, please email me directly at [email protected] or call/text me at (313) 727-9784. O holy Mother of God, pray for us!
In Jesus, Mary & Joseph,
Fr. Alex Kratz, OFM
