November 15, 2022
The disappointing election results show how far we have to go as Church. Too few Catholics entered the fray to fight for life. Where there is grievous sin, REPARATION is required. (John of the Cross said, “The non-penitential man will never understand how the devil works on him.) The best reparation one can make is to attend Holy Mass and worthily receive Holy Communion. This Friday, November 18, we will host a “Friday Evening of Reparation” to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We will begin with 7:00 pm Exposition and the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. It will be followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the Litany of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus and perhaps a few other prayers. A “Mass for the Forgiveness of Sins” will follow. We will conclude by praying the outdoor Stations of the Cross under our new lights.
Archbishop Vigneron has called for the first two weeks of Advent (Nov. 27-Dec. 11) to be a time of reparation by prayer, penance & fasting, and almsgiving. In that spirit, we will have another holy hour like we did before the election but this will be a “Holy Hour of Reparation” after the 7:00 pm Mass (hence at 7:45 pm) at St. Mary’s Shrine Chapel in Orchard Lake (3535 Commerce Rd., West Bloomfield, MI 48324). It will be on Wednesday, November 30. Come, and make reparation for a sinful world.
