St. Joseph Chapel (400 South Blvd. West, Pontiac, MI 48341) will be closed for the month of August EXCEPT for the Solemnity of the Assumption. On Sunday, August 15 doors will open at 11:00 am. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 11:30 am and Holy Mass will be at 12:00 pm (Noon). (Healing Prayer will be available after Mass.) Come honor Our Lady at her holy little shrine!
Due to a car event in Pontiac, we will NOT BE OPEN on Saturday, August 14 for the Vigil Mass.
We reopen on First Wednesday, September 1.
On First Saturday, September 4, the Men of the Sacred Hearts will give a presentation on Home Enthronement of the Sacred Heart after Mass. I will bless an 8”x10” Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary image with salt for each participant’s home. Please pre-register for this by sending an email to firstJesus.org on the information page of Men of the Sacred Hearts telling them you will be at St. Joseph Shrine. Provide your name, street address, city, state and zip code along with your cell phone number. On Sept. 4 a kit will be built for you consisting of the image, salt, a ceremony book and Certificate of Enthronement. There is no cost, but a free will donation envelope is enclosed in the package and of course any donation is appreciated to help with the costs. Fr. Alex will begin “Teaching Tuesdays” in September. On September 7 and 28 there will be 7:00 pm Mass followed by teaching. On the aforementioned dates the teaching will be on biblical anthropology from Presentation Ministries’ booklet (provided for free), “Who Am I in Christ?”
The next Healing Service by Terra Sancta Ministries will be on Tuesday, September 14 (Triumph of the Cross) at the National Shrine of the Little Flower: Confessions at 6:15 pm and Mass at 7:00 pm.
We will resume our Evening of Reparations on the Third Monday of each month. We will begin on September 20 with the Rosary at 7:00 pm followed by Holy Mass. We seek to do reparation for offenses against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
