Tuesday, September 29, we will honor the Holy Archangels: “Saints” Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. (We call them “saints” because they are holy—that being the same word in Latin.) That is the last evening for our Marian Catechesis which begins with a 6:00 pm Mass, followed by a meal (downstairs) and then the Marian Catechesis back up in the chapel to conclude.
I will make the 6:00 pm Tuesday Mass for the Archangels OPEN TO THE PUBLIC so we can fill our chapel with “true worshippers” of the Father united to the Archangels whom we will honor. The subsequent meal is only for those who have registered, but that Mass is for anyone who comes. We will pray to the Three Archangels by praying the Litany to St. Gabriel the Archangel and the Litany to St. Raphael the Archangel at 6:00 pm. We will conclude with the St. Michael the Archangels Prayer right after Mass (as we always do), and when the Marian Catechesis is done, we will pray the Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel (takes 15 min.). The feast of St. Francis of Assisi falls on Sunday, October 4. Most Catholics parishes will observe that Sunday, but Franciscan churches follow their Franciscan calendar and so can celebrate the feast as a solemnity. We will at St. Joseph Chapel (400 South Blvd. W., Pontiac, MI 48341)—especially being the 800th Anniversary of his death. The November 3 elections are fast approaching. Prayer is needed to implore God for leaders who, while certainly not perfect, are the most acceptable to Him. GOD CAN DECIDE. Many of us pray a daily Rosary and some pray one or more throughout the week. I am asking those to pray a daily Rosary to pledge an extra Rosary for elections all across America for God to choose the political candidate most pleasing to Him—whatever the race. (YOU CAN MAKE OTHER PERSONAL PRAYER COMMITMENTS ON YOUR OWN, OF COURSE.) If you do not pray a daily Rosary, please consider praying a daily Rosary (as Our Lady requested at all 6 apparitions at the 1917 apparitions at Fatima) and simply including the elections as one of your intentions.
