Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 15, the Shrine will be closed so I can cover for other parishes whose priests are up north with the Archbishop.
This Saturday, October 18, I will have catechesis after Mass in the Lower Level. The topic will be, “196 Unchangeable Truths of our Catholic Faith.” (Next Saturday, October 25, we will have catechesis on the “Last Things.”) We stand in continuity of what Jesus taught the 12 Apostles and what they later taught (the “teaching of the Apostles” in Acts 2:42). This is the supernatural revelation from the God-Man Himself—still taught by the Roman Catholic Church today. Nothing else suffices.
The next Evening of Reparation will be on Monday, October 20. Doors open at 6:30 pm with Eucharistic Exposition and the option for Confession. The Holy Hour is at 7:00 pm, followed by Holy Mass—all offered in reparation for the sins of America and the world that greatly offend our Creator and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Come, pray for Divine Mercy on the world!
If you have someone who is “Christian” but can’t understand what is “Catholic,” the best book I am aware of the following: Alan Shreck, Catholic & Christian: An Explanation of Commonly Misunderstood Catholic Beliefs (Servant Books, 2004) for $25.00 a copy. I highly recommend this. Everything Dr. Schreck is solid.
