I hope this summer has been a blessing to you so far. We RE-OPEN this Saturday, August 1—the month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. To her Jesus had entrusted world peace, the power to crush all heresies and to lead all to the One True Faith—the Catholic Faith (Eph. 4:5). That is why in her apparitions she always leads souls to the fullness of the Faith. Some demons are assigned to lead souls to even a little error—such as rejecting Purgatory—and this little error leads to LOTS OF SUFFERING.
I can still accept Mass Intentions while we are closed. (I offer Mass every day—often a private one.) Mass Intentions can be given or communicated to me in the way most convenient for you. Texting is the easiest for me. (If you email me, it really helps that you text me that you have sent me an email.) Please contact me to arrange the Mass Intention(s) you want during this time and how to make your Mass Intention donation.
The pilgrim Fatima Statue will be available this First Saturday for anyone who would like to take it home. Please let me know.
This Saturday is First Saturday. I will be out of town, so Fr. Raphael Ozoude, OFM, one of our newly ordained Franciscan Friars (from the Church of the Transfiguration, Southfield) will fill-in for me for the entire First Saturday experience.
TWO MASSES are available on First Saturdays—at 9:00 am and at Noon. Doors open at 8:30 am with Confessions available (but no Exposition). The first Mass at 9:00 am Mass is, by intention, meant to be simpler and shorter than the Noon Mass. The Rosary follows with the 15 minutes of reflection on the Mysteries of the Rosary that Our Lady of Fatima requested. Exposition will take place around 10:30 am or so. Two additional priests will come for Confessions during the 10:15 am-11:00 am period. After the Noon Mass we will have Exposition, the Rosary and Benediction. We will begin to offer light refreshments in September. Let us grow in our devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary so she can intercede for souls and thwart the Devil’s snares.
