Our May Crowning will be TOMORROW, Saturday, May 9. It will actually be a Double May Crowning, as we will crown during Mass the statue of Our Lady of the Cape in St. Joseph Chapel and then process after Mass outside to the Shrine-Grotto singing songs to crown the statue of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. There we will crown the miraculous statue after praying the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary.
As Queen-Mother who co-reigns with JESUS our King, Our Lady is rightly honored. She is no ordinary woman, but the holy Mother of God whose singular privilege of being immaculately conceived (hence, she is the Immaculate Conception as, with great emotion, she told St. Bernadette at Lourdes in 1858) enables her to also be our spiritual mother and to help obtain greater spiritual fruits from her Spouse, the Holy Spirit. Without her, our society won’t be converted, and only with her, can we bring our corrupted Western culture back to the feet of her Son.
“To ignore the Mother is to dishonor the Son.” It doesn’t please Jesus that we ignore His mother. This is why He insists that her Immaculate Heart be honored along with His Sacred Heart (as revealed at Fatima in 1917 and after those apparitions). We commit to FIVE First Saturdays to do reparation for the FIVE blasphemies against Mary. The FOURTH blasphemy includes an omission: “Those who try publicly to implant in children’s hearts indifference, contempt and even hate against the Immaculate Mother (or neglect to teach a knowledge and love of her).” Are we guilty of NOT teaching about the Holy Mother of God? Doing this leads to a decline of Catholic culture, which directly leads to a decline of civic culture, which results in a loss of fervor, loss of souls, less conversions and an overall corruption of everything. This happened after Vatican II. It has and is happening to Europe, and the Devil is working overtime to make it happen to America which is consecrated to the Immaculate Conception. COME, HONOR YOUR MOTHER and you will be honoring the Son—they are inseparable.
